find connecting rooms

Does Hyatt guarantee connecting rooms?

No.

Hyatt handles connecting rooms as a request, subject to availability, per its own property FAQs. There is no chain-wide guarantee — the front desk fills the request near arrival, if it can.

What this means when you book

A request is not a promise. You can ask, the note goes on your reservation, and whether it happens depends on what’s free the day you arrive. If you only wanted rooms nearby, that’s a minor gamble. If you need the door — a sleeping child, a parent who might need you in the night — it’s the difference between a good night and sitting in the dark.

Like most of the industry, Hyatt can only offer a request because it doesn’t control room assignment at its franchised and independently managed hotels. Only Hilton and Omni have solved this — here’s how →

The reliable move at Hyatt
  • Book a two-bedroom suite where one exists — for example at Hyatt House. The second bedroom is one bookable unit, so it’s guaranteed the way a connecting request never is.
  • If you still want two rooms: book direct, make connecting rooms your only request, and confirm with the property a few days before arrival.
  • Never rely on a phone agent’s “guaranteed.” Central reservations can’t hold specific rooms — only the property can, and only close to arrival.
